Foster to Adopt

Foster To Adopt

Temporary Guest or Full Time Family Member?

Foster-to-adopt is a great way to learn if one of our cats or dogs is a good fit for your family prior to committing to adoption. When you foster-to-adopt, you commit to take the animal home until a permanent home is found and then get some time to decide whether the relationship is meant to be.

Foster-To-Adopt

It can be a big decision to adopt a dog and one that is made a little bit easier when you choose to foster-to-adopt! Fostering to adopt gives you the opportunity to have the dog you are interested in adopting while opening a space at the shelter to save another dog in need.

Why should you foster-to-adopt?

It's difficult to judge a book by its cover, and it's even harder to judge a pet by a meet and greet. Foster-to-Adopt helps us fulfill our mission to get amazing animals out of the shelter and allows you more time to get to know your potential new furry friend.

  • The animal will relax in your home and show its true personality.
  • You’ll confirm that the pet is a good fit for your lifestyle and gets along with all members of your family, both two and four-legged.

What To Expect?

You are commiting to fostering your chosen animal until a permanant home is found with the option to keep them if they're the perfect fit!

If it's not the right fit, fosters will keep animals an average of 4-8 weeks. Some pets need more time because of age, illness, injury, or behavior issues. Your time commitment will be discussed up-front before you agree to foster the pet, but most foster families keep the animal until the animal gets adopted.
