Meet Samoa -- the happiest, most resilient dog ever (at least we think so)! She says she needs "some mo-a lovin'" and "some mo-a hugs"!
Miss Samoa has had a rough start in life. She came to us with a BADLY BROKEN and ALREADY HEALED (incorrectly) PELVIS but she doesn't let that get her down! She almost always has a smile on her face and loves to give kisses. Cuddling on the couch is *the best thing ever*. She enjoys walks and is learning to get along with her foster's two dogs. She is wary of small children at first, so we think a home with older children that can let her warm to them on her own schedule would be best.
She's a three year old, 15 pound, mixed breed sweetheart. She is housebroken however she will piddle if she gets nervous. She is crate trained but we think she would actually sleep in a dog bed without wandering around. She loves to chew appropriate bones and dog chews. She can be a bit defensive with her foster's dogs when she has a bone/chew. She'll make a small warning but has never snapped, so best if she has these special treats while separated.
The surgeon did not feel that the break (it was actually broken on both sides, with her right side being the worst break) was likely correctable with surgery. She has a giddyap in her step and will likely always have this. She is currently on pain meds, though we are still trying to determine her level of pain (the vet actually thinks she is not very painful). Her new family will need to have the resources to provide future medical care, should it be needed. We are happy to have you speak with our vet about the injury and prognosis for a normal, happy, pain-free life.
If you have "some mo-a room" in your heart and home, Samoa may just be the perfect dog for you. If you'd like to meet her, please complete the dog application!
