Foster Agreement
I agree to abide by the conditions below by agreeing to each
1. I understand that I am not obligated to take in a foster animal. I accept foster dogs at my own risk. I understand these risks may include property damage, personal injury to myself, members of my household including my own animals, and/or any third parties. I assume liability to provide adequate controls to prevent such damage or injury. **

2. Though the Rescue makes its best efforts to screen all incoming animals, I understand and agree that the Rescue makes no guarantees or statements regarding any fostered dog's age, breed, health, or temperament, The Rescue is available for consultation, advice and assistance pertaining to the health, training and compatibility of any fostered dog*

3. Though the Rescue does its best to bring in animals that are healthy, I understand that incoming foster animals may have fleas and/or ticks, may not be housetrained, and may develop illnesses such as kennel cough, parvo, distemper, etc.*

4. I understand and agree that basic medical expenses for each fostered animal will be covered by the Rescue, provided that an authorized Rescue representative has approved the medical expenses, and the care is from a Rescue designated veterinarian. I understand and agree that if I choose to go to a non-approved vet, I may be responsible for the vet bill. **

5. I agree that it is in my best interest to ensure that all of my personal animals are current on all vaccinations, and that the Rescue shall not be responsible for expenses incurred should any of my own animals contract an illness from a fostered animal.*

6. I agree to adhere to any local, city, or county ordinances related to the number of and/or type of dogs in my home and shall obey all applicable laws governing control and custody of animals. At no time will I allow any fostered animal to be a nuisance to people or other animals*

7. I understand I am responsible for contacting potential adopters within 48 hours of being asked to do so. I also am responsible for arranging meet and greets with potential adopters at a location of my own choosing.*

8. I understand and agree that I am responsible for the safety of each fostered animal and for the safety of other animals and people a fostered animal comes into contact with and shall follow all safety procedures in socializing any fostered animal with humans and other animals.*

9. I understand the Rescue is required by state law to perform an in person home visit and I agree to an annual in-home inspection when requested by the Rescue*

10. I agree to keep any fostered dog on a leash at ALL times while outdoors, unless in a securely fenced area.*

12. I understand that the Rescue retains ownership of all foster animals, which includes puppies or kittens of pregnant foster animals until adopted. I also understand the Rescue will make all decisions regarding adoption, placement, and medical care of the animals I foster.*

13. I understand and agree that any fostered animal will be a family companion only and I agree to take adequate care of any fostered animal by providing love, nutritious food, plentiful, clean water, adequate shelter and daily exercise.*

15. I agree to keep any fostered dog inside a house when the animal is not with me or a member of my family. At no time will any fostered animal be placed outside on a tie-out (in a yard, in front of café, store etc.).*

16. I understand and agree that any fostered animal shall not ride loose in the bed of pickup trucks, convertibles or be left in a car when air temperatures exceed 50 degrees.*

The Rescue appreciates any willingness to donate toward the fostered dog’s general expenses, like food, treats, etc., and the Rescue will offer donated items, as available, for use by foster homes. (Such general expenses, if paid for by a foster home and not by the Rescue, may be tax deductible.) Crates can be lent to foster homes and I agree to returned any items lent to me upon adoption of the fostered animal.*

18. I understand while I have a foster animal, I may not foster for another organization without prior written consent.*

19. I understand and agree that should it become necessary for the Rescue to take legal action to recover the fostered animal or otherwise enforce the provisions of this Agreement, I will be obligated to pay all court costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees for the Rescue associated therewith.*

I understand and agree that the Rescue retains legal control of the fostered animal and that I am not authorized to make any legal or medical decisions on its behalf, or to transfer the fostered animal to any other person, firm or corporation for any reason whatsoever. The Rescue retains the right to reclaim the fostered animal at any time, and for any reason, without legal writ or order.*

RELEASE AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT - I do hereby forever release, discharge and covenant to hold harmless Scroungy Dogs and Pretty Pups Rescue, Inc. (“SDPPR”) ((and its officers, directors, volunteers, affiliated entities, agents, and/or any other person, firm, or corporation charged or chargeable with responsibility or liability), their heirs, administrators, executors, successors and assigns, from any and all liability, claims, damages, costs, expenses, loss of services, actions and causes of action, known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, belonging to me arising out of any act, omission, or occurrence, or any injury or damage to person or property, relating in any way to my involvement in fostering an animal. By electronically signing this document, I hereby declare that no representations about the nature of any fostered animal, nor any representations regarding the nature and extent of legal liability or financial responsibility, have induced me to make this Release and Indemnity Agreement. I agree to abide by the terms set forth above and have read and fully understands that Scroungy Dogs and Pretty Pups Rescue, Inc. (“SDPPR”) may repossess any fostered animal at any time.
